On your first visit

We will be looking for the following:

  • Patterns of misuse
  • Postural imbalances
  • Shortened postural muscles
  • Unextended muscles
  • Problems in specific muscles, and other soft tissues, tender points and areas of persistent tightness
  • Restriction in joint movement
  • Dysfunctional patterns in coordination, balance, respiration

Client Assessment

We aim to:

  • Take a case history appropriate to the needs of your own treatment plan
  • Assess the client to identify any contraindicated conditions that should be referred
  • Assess the condition of the soft tissues for injury and/or damage
  • Carry out postural assessments to identify common postural tendancies
  • Evaluate the range of movement in peripheral joints to identify soft tissue dysfunction
  • Prepare a treatment programme which meets the specific needs of the client

Treatments

Soft Tissue Manipulation

We aim to:

  • Resolve problems caused by chronic muscle tension and spasm
  • Restore normal length and release excessive muscle tension
  • Release localised areas of muscle tension and scar tissue

Injury, Treatment and Rehabilitation

We aim to:

  • Assess for acute and chronic soft tissue injuries
  • Treat acute injuries
  • Treat overuse injuries
  • Provide advice on training, rehabilitation and prevention of soft tissue injuries

Special Cases

Clinical massage therapy can greatly assist in a variety of situations which present unique physical and mental challenges.

Clinical massage is especially beneficial for:

  • People with learning difficulties
  • Physically and/or mentally disabled people
  • The elderly
